Because of blatant corruption.
The charges weren't dismissed, the case never got heard. That's a huge difference.
Those charges can be filled at any point in the future.
The charges can be refiled when Trump is not a sitting President up to the statute of limitations.
The statute of limitations is probably five years for most of the classified documents charges; maybe some are ten years.
Given offenses occurred from 2021-2022 (when the search warrant was executed), it seems like the statute will expire on the smaller stuff before Trump leaves office.
It's arguable that the limitations would have to change given the current sitting president limitation. Sorta like the timers that don't start until discovery could have, should have or did happen.
