TLDR: meme gud

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on Sunday said Democrats will not focus on impeaching President Trump if they regain a majority in the lower chamber after midterm elections.

“I’ve made clear from the very beginning that our top priority is going to be to drive down the high cost of living,” the House minority leader added.

The House minority leader has lauded Democrats’ push for redistricting nationwide in an effort to pick up additional House seats and signaled that the party will advocate more for working-class Americans, after Democrats saw losses from the key demographic in the 2024 election.

Stop supporting and enabling genocidal cunts or I’ll do my best to kneecap the only viable opposition and empower MAGA and Trump!

[–] Wakmrow@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (2 children)

If I can't tell the difference then I'm not engaging. Good luck.

I love it, the left are both a large voting block for the Democrats but negligible enough to not be considered serious for legislation. Like with all fascists, you can't reason with a neo-lib.

Schrodingers leftist.

Democrats need to pursue the left flank of the countries like they pursue triple Trumper votes.

The Democrats empowered MAGA and Trump by running a completely non-viable candidate. Stop blaming voters for the failure of the Democratic party. This is all on them, 100%.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 19 points 1 week ago (4 children)

That non viable candidate almost won and the world would be a better place if she did.

I’d say this was less on the voters and more on the non voters.

That non viable candidate almost won and the world would be a better place if she did.

But she chose a losing policy and lost. The entire left was telling you she was going to lose. But the left isn't netanyahu, so centrists didn't listen.

People didn't vote because they felt like Harris was not worth voting for. She lost because she didn't actually offer anyone what they wanted, she was just a harm reduction candidate at best. That isn't sufficiently motivating to get people out to vote, no matter how much we rant and yell and shame people.

Please, I am begging you, accept this reality. I want Trump and the Republicans gone probably even more than you do. I am trying to help you understand that we lost for a very good reason and we need to learn from it.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 7 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I think she would have did a good job personally.

No war in Iran and no brownshirts shooting Americans in the streets.

[–] bearboiblake@pawb.social 11 points 1 week ago (24 children)

What you think, and whether she would have done a good job, is completely irrelevant. Do you not understand my point? You win elections by having a candidate that people want to vote for, usually by advancing policies which are popular.

The genocide in Gaza is now like a 90/10 issue. It is known that it was a factor in why Kamala lost the election. If she had opposed the genocide, it is very possible that she would have won.

I am not shitting on Democrats just for fun. I am trying to explain that Trump won because the Democrats advanced a shit, genocidal candidate.

If you let them do the same thing again in 2028, we very well may see a Republican President even worse than Trump.

Please, demand more than the bare minimum.

Oh yes, why reduce harm when we can not vote and get the option that will just endlessly stab with the wheel of staby knives.

People not voting are possibly more stupid than MAGA. At least MAGA morons have SOME sort of care, even if its motivated entirely by hate.

[–] bearboiblake@pawb.social 8 points 1 week ago

I've voted in every election I was ever eligible to vote in. I am simply explaining why the Democrats lost. You can hate the people who didn't vote if you want, I understand that frustration, but there is a very good reason they didn't vote - because they didn't perceive the Democratic candidate to be someone worth voting for.

Advance a candidate with popular policies who isn't a genocidal piece of shit and watch in amazement as political engagement ramps up.

This is the most sane comment I've seen from you since I joined Lemmy.

He almost gets it, like Kamala almost won.

No it's projection which is why it's hilarious. Cumfart spent his 2024 kneecapping any opposition to Biden and the status quo, leaving us with the only possible option which could lose to fascism.

Don't let them fool you, Cumfart is a fascist. They would just prefer it be their preferred fascists at the helm.

Wow, "stop blaming voters".

America, do you even understand how a democracy is supposed to work? Hint: it's not fire & forget every N years.

Good luck you all, you need it.

[–] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 14 points 1 week ago (2 children)

They quit teaching civics in school in the US 30 years ago. So, no, the kids you're arguing with do not understand how a democracy is supposed to work. Yet another Republican success story.

Wow, “stop blaming voters”.

Ok. Keep blaming voters. Scream at them until the end of time. It won't change the electorate you have in front of you. You can appeal to the voters or lose. I know, it's beneath you to treat the hostages like they're people instead of vending machines that dispense votes when you kick them hard enough.

🙄

It certainly seems like you have a winning message by being condescending

Harris chose a losing policy. She lost.

Not that any centrist has read this far, but I voted for her. I fully expect abuse from people who made the assumption that I didn't as soon as I said she chose a losing policy.
