tbf, I don't know how else they would integrate a mounted heavy machine gun into fo4's mechanics. It seems like a reasonable compromise that doesn't just have bullets feeding in from thin air or require custom animations.
Sucks for you. You could also find a modder who takes custom jobs or make your own creation...
I'm just surprised that such a famous weapon in WW2 hasn't been more popular for Fallout 4 modders
