Interesting. I've been familiar with this kink for years. I wonder why the sudden spike? Honestly I would bet it's related to the disturbing number of gen-z guys who lean right. No shame on the kink, I think it's great, but it's the sort of thing that definitely falls under the BDSM umbrella. Strongly tied to control and power, it gives domination in an absolute sense. The kind that should only exist in a fantasy scene, not ever carried out in real life.

To make things even more precise, I see nothing wrong with having a D/S relationship in daily life. It's totally possible (not even that hard tbh) to do it in a way that remains safe and sane for everyone. But the degree and combination of things that comprise Bimbofication (degradation, objectification, dehumanization in some instances, control of all appearance) make it a sort of advanced kink.

My thoughts are a bit disorganized but this makes me somewhat nervous as to why it's spiking. Someone or something is promoting/producing much more of it, potentially? Any ideas, anyone?

Edit: lmfao I saw it now

Someone above replied to a comment with a clip from the Daily Show. Noem's husband made the news.
