This sounds neat but I am frustrated that it didn't cover the mechanism by which organic waste helps with de-icing. Is it a chemical reaction? Or something to do with the fibers? Yeah, I wish they would have went into more details, but I'm glad to see it happening and I hope it works!
recently saw something where they said the method was quite effective, i.e. deiceing properly and reducing salt released into the environment, but at the same time it elevated biological oxygen demand. depending on the environment, the later might be worse
