hosted my own XMPP account (chat.ghodawalaaman.duckdns.org)

Hello,

I have hosted my own XMPP account and it's really fun, hosting an XMPP server is way easier than hosting an XMPP server which is not a good experience. I also find a lot of public servers of my interest, I guess I will be leaving IRC in favour of XMPP server :)

Hey there,

currently running both Synapse for Matrix and Prosody for XMPP.

I know migrating from Prosody to ejabberd is simple, but are there mogration pahs for Synapse as well?

That thing needs way too many ressources. Migrating both to ejabberd would allow me to run one single server for all my comms instead of two.

Why Prav is Important [xmpp] (contrapunctus.codeberg.page)

Prav is an Indian cooperative trying to provide xmpp services to its members.

Not all these features are in the WebXDC supporting XMPP clients yet though.

So is it possible to bridge to different platforms via XMPP (similar to what Matrix does) ??

  1. If yes then how does one bridge
  2. If kinda yes & no then what are the workarounds
  3. If absolutely no then should we develop a bridging capability

One big wall is isolation of users between network that can't reach each other.

Last year there was discussion about DMA enforcing WhatsApp to provide a bridge. Is there any news?

We are trying to leave Telegram, but we rely heavily on Send Later. Checking, it appears the system supports it, but I am struggling to find a client that has it built in. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Molly-UP deprecation (poptalk.scrubbles.tech)
submitted 4 months ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

F-Droid just pushed a Molly-UP update that appears to only add a deprecation warning, and that holds the version number below Molly-FOSS.

There are no instructions. The Install link points to the repo, which F-Droid just notes that I already have.

In the past I have completely lost Signal history twice, once from reinstalling Signal itself but it refusing to read the backup, and once from trying to upgrade from Signal to Molly but having a backup versioned in the wrong direction.

Is the safe process for replacing Molly-UP written down anywhere? I would strongly prefer keeping Unified Push, but I feel like I've been told to walk into a dark tunnel.

Interesting test. Obviously only applies when you use Signal without priviledged push notifications via FCM through Google servers.

Hi, I've set up a prosody server. It works, video calls (with Turn) work, file transfers works. So far so good.

I'd like to install slidge with the whatsapp bridge, but the official slidge documentation is... not great in my opinion.

I've added the priviledge module declaration and the whatsapp bridge information. For what I understand I also need to define a pubsub service, but I can't understand where and with what information.

Can somebody point me in the right direction please?

Thanks!
