When an oil tycoon and a famous adventurer vanish into the harsh winter of remote northern Alaska, a hand-picked rescue team endeavors to bring them home. What they don’t know is that they are trespassing on The Yeti’s territory, and the elements are the least of their worries. A blood-spattered survival horror featuring a towering beast and gruesome practical effects, The Yeti hearkens back to a time when monster movies were king.

The disgraced and despised British entertainer’s distinctive look is trending among some film fans on TikTok. Should somebody tell them what he did?

Honestly, I was expecting the film to be mediocre to horrible based on the critic reviews. I thought it was fucking excellent. It's the perfect blend of psychological and supernatural horror. How could the critics be so wrong? Am I wrong? I really liked the movie. Anyone else here see it? If so, what did you think? I saw the unrated cut, that might matter.

A Night of Horror International Film Festival has just released its first wave for this year’s 18th annual edition, and as usual, it’s a doozy! The fest runs simultaneously with MidWest WeirdFest at the Micon Downtown Cinema in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, making for double the mind-blowing cinema! Following is the official press announcement.

A Night of Horror International Film Festival announces its first programming wave for 2026 today. Long admired as Australia’s premier genre film event, the festival now takes place in the United States. This year, the festival’s 18th edition — and third year in the USA — screens from March 5–8, at the Micon Downtown Cinema in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

“Get ready for the best and bloodiest new horror cinema from America and the world”, says festival founder and programming director Dean Bertram. “The incredible caliber of films submitted to this year’s festival has made our programming decisions more challenging that ever. And while we are still agonizing over the final program, we are delighted to be able to share the first programming wave for 2026: Consisting of eight stand out features: all among the very best of the several hundred films that we have watched and considered for this festival season; all overflowing with originality, atmosphere, and edge-of-your-seat delights”.

The Thing is a beloved horror classic, but it wrote and filmed several different endings, all of which miss the point of the film and make it worse.

You know, that game where you kill people by impaling them on giant hooks.

In Europe, we have Hammer films as well as Italian Giallo films. In the silent era, the German tradition of expressionist cinema with Murnau and Lang produced several classics, as did the swedes (Victor Sjøstrøm) and the danish (Benjamin Christensen). Later, some of these were remade, for instance Klaus Kinski played Nosferatu once (he hardly needed makeup).

So, in this thread I thought you might post your recommendations among these old European B-movies.

Breaking Glass Pictures proudly announces the worldwide release of Rufus, the daring new horror anthology film from Canadian-American director Mars Roberge that premiered at six film festivals, winning three awards (Best Horror Film at the Los Angeles IFS Film Festival and L.A. Punk Film Festival, Best Supernatural Feature at The New York Science Fiction and Horror Film Festival) and receiving two nominations (Best Picture at Los Angeles IFS Film Festival and Best Feature Film at Atlanta Horrorfest).

At the heart of the anthology is Rufus, played by legendary former drug kingpin turned motivational speaker Freeway Rick Ross. Living in South Central Los Angeles, Rufus entertains friends and children against his wife’s wishes by telling them five strange and disturbing stories. These tales, described by Roberge as explorations of body horror, range from a mortician working on the wrong night to a singer who discovers the rot beneath the entertainment industry, to unsettling visions of adoption, medical malpractice, and the human cost of war. Each story is laced with bizarre imagery and biting social commentary, earning Rufus comparisons to The Twilight Zone, Creepshow, and Phantom of the Paradise. “Rufus also stands for ‘Really Unusual F***ed Up Shit,’” explains Roberge. “It’s what he says after every story. He’s a man telling campfire-style tales from the hood, but he’s also a mirror for the strange realities we all wrestle with.”

Send Help will be directed following the script written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. The two writers have worked in horror in the past by penning the scripts for Freddy vs Jason and the 2009 version of Friday the 13th.

The Creep Tapes Season 2 (2025) Review (foundfootagehorrormovies.com)

You know what you are getting with Creep, and if you love it, you love it, and boy do I love it.

Horror has seen remarkable success in 2025. Popular franchises have celebrated new entries, like V/H/S/Halloween, Black Phone 2, 28 Years Later, the Conjuring franchise’s swan song, and what might be the best Final Destination movie to date. Original films like Weapons, Good Boy, and Together helped open minds and get under their audience’s skin, while offerings like Sinners and Frankenstein are even likely to earn themselves Academy Award nominations.

There’s plenty to appreciate and learn from these domestic horror films, but audiences are selling themselves short if they don’t broaden their horizons and explore the rest of the world’s cinematic horror achievements from this year. 2025 was a very exciting year for international horror films, including many titles that are sure to impress, delight, and disturb those who are looking for something different.

People Who Hear Their Names Called at Night (morocconightmares.blogspot.com)
submitted 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) by NightWhisper@feddit.org to c/Horror@lemmy.ca

Last night, I clearly heard my name whispered in the darkness.

I wasn’t asleep… and no one was there.

Many people around the world report the same experience:

hearing their name called at night, softly, from nowhere.

Some believe it’s a psychological trick of the brain.

Others say it’s something far darker — spirits, shadows, or entities that only appear when the world is silent.

What makes it truly terrifying is that once it happens, it never feels like it was just imagination.

Have you ever heard your name when no one was around ?

She was not just a woman… she was a warrior.

During the Portuguese occupation, she fought with a courage that terrified her enemies.

After her disappearance, people began to whisper about her return.

They say she appears at night, dressed in white, her legs bent like an animal’s, her eyes fixed on those who dare remember her name.

Was she a real person… or something darker born from war and fear ?

Do stories like this exist in your country ?
