I used to listen to Tim Fite years ago on Bandcamp

This is one of my favourites from that era

Do you have a 'hide read' setting enabled?

As they say on 4chan, this post is Fadeke and Adegbuyi

I think you can nap. As evidence I present the scene where Rita and Larry go to the morgue to identify Phil's body. This suggests that the time loop continues the day beyond Phil-specific events (like death, and naps)

I don't know, that's not really in my wheel house

Australian xmas is a mishmash, you take cold traditions and make them warm, the food is similar but different, outdoor sports or swimming are common, it's easy to get around

For my money breakie and presents with one family then lunch with another, prawns from the barbie, roast ham served cold with salad, beers by the pool and backyard cricket make for a distinctly Australian xmas

If that's just a Winter Xmas to people from the Northern Hemisphere I'd be surprised

I'm going to a Christmas in July party in Australia tonight!

In Australia you have Xmas in July because it's an excuse to have a party. It's understood not to be like real Xmas though, more a themed party.

As an Aussie I would not set out to have Xmas in July in the Northern Hemisphere specifically because I wanted a hot Xmas, but living there you might do it to show off Australian Xmas customs to locals.

Like the contractors on the Death Star

I have a controller for an electric throw blanket that I would like to repair, but I have no experience soldering on boards

You can see at bottom left a yellow box and a resistor. Something has burnt out in this area, and likely both will need to be replaced at a minimum

I would also need help identifying parts. The yellow box is embossed 'Tenta' and has printed on the side 'TC MEX/TENTAMKP 0.1 uf 275VAC' with some other markings obscured or damaged

Is this an achievable project?

Our electricity supplier sent us an email with the nondescript title of 'Energy Market Pricing Review' in which they jacked up our supply charge by 13% and usage rates by 53-72%

I went on the Aust Gov energy comparison website (energymadeeasy.gov.au), entered a few details, went to the lowest priced option, followed the link to their website, and signed up, all within 15 minutes

I'm not saying which retailer because this is not an ad, and it will be different everywhere

The new plan will save $18 per month just in the supply charge, and has cheaper usage rates!

If your energy company is taking the piss too, tell them to get fucked. If they call to 'Ask what they can do to keep you' or 'Find out how they can do better' just hang up. They have no decency, and nothing they say should sway you to give your money to companies that treat you like garbage

There are about 6 pages.dev domains spamming lemmy.world communities

The volume is definitely inorganic, and is across a wide range of communities

pages.dev is Cloudflare's site hosting which can be used for free - there are likely many legitimate sites that use that domain, but the current flood is suspicious
