Hi everyone! Sorry for the silence - I’ve been buried in code these past two weeks

I’ve been rewriting the core logic of VOID entirely in pure Rust, and I’m happy to say that all filesystem components are now done Every part of the FS layer has proper documentation and tests - it’s finally ready for future collaborators.

Another big step: I’ve finished the recording subsystem, which will later power features like lecture or meeting transcriptions.

And… I’m really excited to share that soon I’ll present the entire design of VOID - from the main layout to plugin UI!

Yattee is a free and open source invidious/piped client for iOS and iPadOS. It’s great for those who want to watch YouTube without the ads garbage. It also supports sponsorblock. It’s a bit buggy, but it still works fine.

I’ve spun up a Debian server a couple of days ago and hosted my own invidious instance. It’s been great so far.

Just a little note, the app looks like it’s struggling with funding/contributions from what I saw on the GitHub and Patreon pages. So if you can code in swift and feel like helping the dev, I don’t think he’ll mind :)

Based on the article: Facebook has recently gotten an Ex-Meta Member into the Data Protection Agency of Ireland near end of 2024. They were sued for 250 million euro. They are back now actively trying to push for lower data protections in the EU publicly saying "It will hurt Meta"
