Developer just confirmed the they found and fixed the bug for the next version.

I've had a ROG Azoth (don't judge) keyboard for about a year now. Been using it for both programming and gaming, and I really like it, but there are a few issues (software being the obvious one). So I've decided it's time to put together my own keyboard. I started watching some YouTube and yeah.... I'm out of my depth here.

So I was wondering if maybe people could share things they wish they knew when starting out so I don't mess up to badly.

I've already found this switch tester which I figured would give me a general idea of what kind of switches might be for me. Other than that, I'm not really sure how to proceed 😅.

I'm not interesting in doing any soldering.

Wonder what age range you have to be in to get this 😂😅.

I honestly felt the same. Then I thought, eh, let's just try. Turns out I don't care about my library being split. I just add desktop icons for the games I'm playing and launch them from there without thinking about what platform it's on.

Nice to know it's not just me 😊.

Love the app by the way.

Whenever I try and read long posts with several images, scrolling down becomes extremely sluggish. I've attached a link to one such post. Once I reach the replies to the post, scrolling becomes responsive again.

This is on Android.

Yeah, I'm actually a member of his channel on YouTube.

Yes, I'd much rather these be on Lemmy! I don't want yet another blog to bookmark. By being on Lemmy I also catch new posts pretty quickly in my feed.

I love these posts, but I need to make a bug report for the Boost app, because for some reason these posts are unreadable in that app. Scrolling is just way to sluggish. Not sure if it's the length, or number of images.

I honestly thought this was an option, but I can't see it in the client, and the offline installers only offer all patches and the latest version. Not the original version.

I agree that's daft, and hope that feature doesn't get paywalled. The more people who do the survey and stress these points, the better.

I just know that for decades people will check the git blame and curse my name.

I got the impression they're aiming more for a "fan club" kind of thing where you get access to articles/videos/Q&A/voting rights, etc. So more a kind of Patreon like many creators have. I didn't get the impression that this would in any way change the business model of the store.

Just did a GOG survey that focused on the idea of a paid membership option on GOG. Seems they're determining what people would be willing to pay extra for. Some of the options were

  • a tool for backing up offline installers
  • ability to install previous versions of a game
  • extra insight into the preservation work they're doing.
  • voting rights on games to bring into the preservation program.

And others that I can't remember.
