This is such a cool concept. Feel like it could be a cover of an album or book.

Im genuinely confused. Then why even cite those articles? Is there a hard rule for "You must cite this much articles" before publishing?

Oh boy. This game is awsome. Picking it up for free is a a steal!

Pacific Drive, Whispers in the wood DLC.

Finally they added something that will actively chase you and act like a stalker type enemy(stop at nothing). You can crank up both your car and the enemy's speed to make chasing super tense.

The atmosphere and sound design are even more spooky, fantastic stuff.

The story's main character is a bit chatty, but I think sells the "mad cultist" impression pretty well.

Performance wise: Using lossless framegen 2x to pull the framerate up from 30 to 60. Pixel rendering in this game is cheap, so no amount of lowering resolution will boost much performance.

Finally! Been waiting for a stable release since their roadmap. Really glad I don't have to treat it as a very experimental service that breaks once a while anymore.

Huge thanks to all the contributors who made this possible.

The story is linear, but the gameplay can be less linear if you choose to mess around.

The map is basically a large area with many "zones" interconnected. You'll have a desired zone to go to(by story requirement or upgrade collection), and you are free to route your drive there however you like(avoiding bad weather, choose zones with gas stations..).

As for how a round end, think of extraction games. You've collected a lot of parts for your next run, now you get out of there via the game's extraction mechanic (This part is most fun since the game turn the heat up), you will end up safe'n sound in the garage if you succeed. Failing a run is rare on normal difficulty, you will keep ~ 40% of your loot in a failed run.

Each run is quite lengthy, you can pause & save mid-run in game. So if you want something that can just kill time, this game will do just that.

Pacific Drive!

The game got patched quite a few times and now it can hit a stable 30 (most of the time)(there will be dip into 25fps when things start exploding or under heavy acid rain).

Despite having to turn all graphical settings to the lowest, the sound effect and environmental eerieness still did a great job creating the atmosphere.

Overall, a drive or two on the deck feels awsome. And when you got bored, just put it to sleep and drive a real car.

I probably wont try "Video game between sessions", I would just not go back to studying LOL.

As for the take more break & don't expect too much part, I agree! Progress is progress.

Good luck on finding new mechanisms! Feels like experimentation & messups, are forever parts of our lives (more so on our quirky brains).

Perhaps its because we are good at "pretending to be focused"?

A lot of people said I give off the impression of a "good student" but deep down I wonder how fast people will figure out.XD

Having dependable/depended friends sure sounds like a good motivation.

Long-time lurker, encouraged by this community to get properly diagnosed recently (Thanks!).

Ok, to the point: I know taking longer to reach a college degree is normal, and I should just make peace with the fact that it might take me an extra year or two. But two whole years into college, trying hard and never being enough (to prevent failing subjects & falling behind) is ...just sad.

Studying feels like trying to make the stars align. I will have to be in the library, with minimal smart devices (Laptop + MP3 player at most), properly prepare for what I need to study (The correct textbooks, maybe a calculator, the right notebook, etc..), in order to have 90% chance of studying.

(Basically the good ol' "For the next 3 hour I am holding you hostage" way)

This works.... but it is really slow and takes a lot of time for average amount of studying.

I would love to experiment with other methods, and hope to hear about how other people manage their studying.

I've been playing DRG on a steam deck, and I noticed that there are much more stutter, even at max wattage.

~~And CPU usage now are no longer evenly split across threads(Only maxing 1 thread per core).~~ (This one is fixed in a quick update)

Anyone encountering similar lag issues on season 5?

Edit: This is likely shader compilation stutter, since it was the beginning of the season and not much cache is shared & built.

DRG on Steam Deck OLED performs well, but I want to see how low I can push the TDP while maintaining playability. And I want to share it so others don't have to go thru the hassle.

Assuming battery usage from 90% to 10%,so only 80%(40Wh) is used in playtime estimation.

All presets are tuned with Haz 5 difficulty. Different cave generation/ swarm sizes will cause dips and power hungry moments from time to time.

Modded difficulty are not tested.

(Cyro utility 2.0 used)

In game Settings:

Texture Quality:High , the rest all low.

Using DX12.

fov 103⁰.

Mods used:

-Remove decals

-No ragdolls

-Cyro cannon partical fix

-No flares.

Presets:

7w / 45fps (to be sync with 90Hz) / FSR 2 Ultra Quality / Gpu Auto/ ~4.5 HR / TotalDeckPow=11w

(This one is surprisingly stable, it even have headroom up to 50fps)

9w / 60fps / FSR 1 performance / Gpu Auto / ~3.5 HR / TotalDeckPow=14w

(Really like this one, used most when not desperate for battery.)

11w / 60fps / FSR 1 Ultra Quality / Gpu Auto / 2.5~3 HR / TotalDeckPow=16~17w

(Nice upgrade over the last one, couch gaming recommended!)

2024/4/29 Update, Aiming for nicer stability and no longer pins GPU (Valve fixed the apu's power allocation)
