Robichaud said they want to join the force because it puts crisis-informed policing first.

"We don't treat an offender any differently than we would treat potentially a victim when we're dealing with them. We go into every situation understanding that everybody that we're probably dealing with is in some type of crisis right now," said Robichaud.

A new Angus Reid Institute poll suggests a majority of Canadians believe First Nations should be meaningfully consulted on projects deemed in the national interest, but they're split on who should hold the deciding power.

Forty per cent of Canadians say the government and companies should retain final say, while 25 per cent say First Nations should have a veto if projects infringe on their lands.

I feel like this is an indication that 40% of Canadians haven't really thought this through.

Well, it wasn't a loss, but it wasn't exactly a win to be proud of.

The Bombers' defense did a couple of impressive things - mainly stopping the Redblacks at the goal line in that early drive - but they ultimately give up way too many yards. It was incredibly frustrating to see them break through to Dru Brown, only for him to somehow scramble a way and complete a pass in the 3rd. It also sucks that Dru Brown was hurt on the play - I hope he gets back into it soon.

The Bombers' offense was...good enough to get the job done, I guess.

The team ultimately seems unable to play a complete game, and haven't met a lead that they're not willing to squander.

"Federation Standard" is definitely just English - the people of New Eden spoke it, despite being moved to that planet during WWIII, well before the Federation was formed.

holy hell are spoilers so difficult to use on Lemmy

You're not wrong, but fortunately these threads are fair game for spoilers - no syntax needed.

I thought this one was a tonal mess - so much so that I was convinced the whole thing was going to turn out to be a training simulation or something.

This show is usually so good at setting a clear mood, but this one was so all over the place, I didn't know how seriously to take the situations the crew(s) found themselves in.

Before all the BS with CBS News happened, I really thought that Skydance was the best of the potential buyers that were floating around at the time.

He's got a steep hill to climb, but this might be a positive sign.

He's with the Prophets now

It's the internet. There's going to be "backlash" regardless.

Though to be honest, people seem pretty high on SFA, both here an in other online spaces I visit.

I think there's a lot of potential in the concept, and the trailer looked great.

Either way, I'd much rather talk about the show than the people talking about the show.

Two crews of CFL officials will take part in NFL training camp joint practices starting on August 13. No NFL officials will travel to Canada this year but the two leagues will explore future opportunities for a northward exchange in the future.

I had no idea such a program had ever existed...

Yeah, that has to be it, even though that's not what the Doctor actually says.
