Flatpak Happenings (blog.sebastianwick.net)

Yesterday I released Flatpak 1.17.0. It is the first version of the unstable 1.17 series and the first release in 6 months. There are a few things which didn’t make it for this release, which is why I’m planning to do another unstable release rather soon, and then a stable release still this year.

Back at LAS this year I talked about the Future of Flatpak and I started with the grim situation the project found itself in: Flatpak was stagnant, the maintainers left the project and PRs didn’t get reviewed.

Some good news: things are a bit better now. I have taken over maintenance, Alex Larsson and Owen Taylor managed to set aside enough time to make this happen and Boudhayan Bhattcharya (bbhtt) and Adrian Vovk also got more involved. The backlog has been reduced considerably and new PRs get reviewed in a reasonable time frame.

Nextcloud Hub 25 Autumn makes it easy to get started with powerful collaboration while in control of your data. Discover our latest release.

Open Minds aims to increase the digital skills of one of the key sectors of European civil society: that covering social and cultural players and the broad public with whom they are in contact.

The needs in terms of digital transition increased during the health crisis, which highlighted the extent of the digital divide and the need to increase digital skills.

To develop the project, we proposed to work along three lines:

  • free access to a database of free software resources
  • a training environment for socio-cultural players
  • regular publications to encourage change towards free software.

Well, you don't know how biology works. Inactive viruse is not very efficient to call an immune reponse. Even myself, i have a hard time understanding it because it is technical and i have to slowly reread study.

It is very technical and the result of decade of research by scientifics, they started the first mRNA vaccine in 1990. It is also a very promising solution against cancer.

!fediverse@piefed.social is great, and slowly growing. I lack good ressource for update and news. It's hard to find good content about it. :)

!geekos@piefed.zip is fulling its goal, a free software community on piefed. I'm slowly filling the tag cloug with hashtag as linux, kde, gnome, libre phone...they will reach the fediverse. :3 And i added foss event where asso, dev, foundation meet each other and share their ideas. :)
