Try "Scaled," it is better.
Holy God... you are talking to Cowbee. Rookie mistake.
I have no idea about the substance of your ban, because I got bored before coming anywhere close to reading the whole thread, but more or less, the type of behavior you encountered is why these guys are banned in a lot of places. It's weird transparently dishonest boosterism combined with claiming the right to "destroy" and troll anyone who is an enemy, also lying about what your opponents believe and why they believe it, and then getting aggressive with anyone who dares to disagree, and then inevitably whining about the colossal ideological unfairness when they inevitably get banned.
lemmy.ml and Cowbee are best left alone I think, except periodically to point the way out to freedom for anyone who's wandered into their orbit accidentally.
For anyone reading: The context is here, including Cowbee being published on lemmy.world while aggressively whining that his team is forbidden from speaking on lemmy.world for ideological reasons, and then this comment (from this thread) as I guess the final instigation for the ban:
No, you directly lied in the face of evidence and claimed no bolding happened
Wrong.
You’re fully aware of the absurdity of your replies, any treatment of your “points” as anything other than the trolling they’ve been would be fruitless.
Projection. Open invitation to stop playing this little game and engage with my response.
This one made me laugh though. You're not wrong. I get the impulse to want to spend extensive time trying to prove Cowbee wrong and hope he or someone involved will see the error of him, but that's the playing-chess-with-the-pigeon game, probably a tactical mistake to spend too much time on.
Let's take all that "judge issues verbal 'smackdown' to government lawyers who aren't the source of problem and don't even want to be there at this point" energy, and push it over to:
"And since you can't follow court orders, I'm directing the prosecution to draw up an order for me to sign designating which law enforcement body is going to be enforcing this on your officers going forward. Any federal personnel not wearing an activated body camera, starting on Tuesday, are going to be subjected to a 3-day stay in custody for civil contempt of my order. I trust they won't attempt to resist that enforcement and so they won't have to face criminal charges for obstruction, is that right, counsel?"
Speculation about motives isn’t evidence
Absolutely correct. If I see anyone doing that, I'll be sure to yell at them for you.
Okay, good to know you can't come up with even one potential innocent explanation. You have offered two which are clearly garbage, and then retreated into this landscape where anything's possible and nothing matters, just because in a vague sense lots of explanations might be possible.
Probably a good decision tactically. You may have a feeling that if you attempt to offer another innocent explanation it may be shown to contradict some kind of other clear evidence, and you may be right.
(Also, again, it's relevant that Hasan is already on camera abusing other dogs, and that his attempt at an innocent explanation is one of those explanations that can't possibly be true. It is legitimately confusing to me why those things are not important to you. Parasocial relationships are a hell of a drug, I guess.)
Anyway I am done now. I was just curious if you had anything better to offer.
You absolutely don't have to be "illegal" for the Haitian thing to be a threat. They've "deported" dozens of citizens at least, by arresting them, then taking them out of state to where their family and legal representation can't find them or communicate with them, and then threaten to keep them in those dangerous facilities indefinitely without key items for life including medicine or edible food until they give up and agree to be "deported."
And yes, he was absolutely implying a threat to do that to the alleged Haitian unless they backed off. He was just drunk enough (and vicious enough as a person) that he couldn't read the room to see that a more friendly approach was his best tactic. So apparently just instilling fear is the go-to. Wonder why his wife doesn't want to be near him and he's fighting for custody of his kids.
It's actually the other way around. He told the cop he didn't give a shit about him or his authority, because he's federal, then threateningly asked his partner whether he was Haitian, and then he started crying and asking for special favors.
Sure. So what is the innocent explanation for what happened (in particular the fresh tape over the back of the unit) that doesn't contradict any kind of visible evidence, and doesn't require some kind of moon-logic like Hasan being unaware that his shock collar has prongs and the remote has buttons on it that shock the dog? What would be the reason for him having her wear the collar regularly without wanting to shock her with it, and then lying about what kind of collar it is?
I mean you've had a chance to see Hasan's explanation. You don't have to speculate wildly about what might have happened or claim that it might be some totally new and different explanation you're totally unaware of (or... you kind of do actually, if you want to try to defend him, since his attempt to explain very notably didn't clarify key information like what model of collar he's claiming it was or what features the remote has...)
"Oh, sweet, it's a quokk.au metacommunity, that sounds worthwhile. I will join."
"OMG THIS IS INFINITELY BETTER"
Trains and planes, too. Did you know you can grow up and drive a giant machine that weighs a million pounds, carrying vital equipment around the country and traveling around all day seeing new stuff? Or one that flies almost at the speed of sound, so high in the sky that you can barely see the ground? Honestly I still watch those "locomotive start up process" YouTube videos. It's the coolest thing in the world.
That is generally how it works, that's why reading Miranda is something that's always done. It's called "fruit of the poisoned tree." I have no idea if it'll play out that way, but given that they've had trouble even getting grand juries to return indictments in the first place it seems pretty plausible.
