The trick is to stop putting plastic on cardboard. I get plenty of packages that have some kind of papery tape on them instead.

In other words... recruiting from MAGA?

That's a good way to start my work day then because I'm constantly moving from one fire to another.

I get why you shouldn't use it before bed but why not after waking up? If it keeps you awake shouldn't it help you wake up?

Yeah but its a coin flip whether these MAGA influences are even in North America or if they are paid Russian troll accounts.

The idea of rules to war might seems strange but I think the idea is that there IS such a thing as a legitimate military objective. For example if the boat IS a legitimate military threat to your nation, you've neutralized that threat by sinking the boat.

"Exterminate people you don't like" is NOT a legitimate military objective, so the second strike is NOT legitimate as the legitimate military objective has already been achieved.

But yes, I think many would agree that the initial strikes were ALSO illegal, it's just that the administration is hiding behind a declaration that these boats are a legitimate military threat so they create a grey area where they are unlikely to ever be held accountable.

The second strike is blatantly illegal and there's really no sane defense for that, by defending the second strike they're essentially admitting to being psychopaths who aren't behaving like legitimate military leadership.

It's crazy how many examples there are too, and they aren't conspiracy theories, just naked corruption. If you bring this up to a MAGA cultist, they say things like "But Biden was the most corrupt president in history", and then they can't provide a single coherent example. Sad.

That's a nice ideal but the reality is that this world is cruel and we're burdening future generations with debt for their degrees and the job market sucks. If reality was different, then maybe kids could enjoy learning in college. But it's not, so they need to make sure they are capable of being good little sheep that can do what the C suite wants otherwise they're going to be in poverty and debt for the rest of their lives with very little safety net.

US here, in case it wasn't obvious.

This meeting most likely benefits Trump more than Mamdani. This gives Trump an opportunity to sweep the vile racism of the final weeks of the campaign under the rug, and lets him appear to be concerned about the working class and affordability.

I'm sure Mamdani and his team understood this but are willing to butter him up so that Trump doesn't send ICE and the national guard into NYC.

Most of this is just trying to justify the bubble by trying to make people think that "AI" is useful.

Any non-smart TVs you would recommend? And what would be your preferred streaming device?

I think a good balance would be a TV that only supports casting either with Chromecast or AirPlay or something similar. The last Chromecast I bought couldn't even keep up with 4k streaming but 4k streaming works fine on my smart TV.

I just moved to a small town. A regional city has rolled out municipal fiber and the towns around it have the opportunity to hook into that city's municipal fiber network if we rollout the infrastructure.

Comcast is spending money through fake grassroots groups to try to get people to vote NO.

I'm trying to convince my fellow citizens to vote YES. The town would take out a loan to rollout the infrastructure, monthly fees would go to pay off that loan and presumably pay the city for the fiber connection as well.

Honestly, the details don't interest me as much as just having a better service and having an option other than Comcast. I figured that "locally owned and operated" would be a slam dunk with xenophobic Republicans, but they seem to be convinced by Comcast's lobbying on the issue and are going to vote NO because taxes might go up (if people don't switch to the service). Has anyone had success with convincing people of the value of municipal fiber?
