Project was a success! Link now has updated info. Not necessarily a step by step guide, but more about the process and "gotchas" that I came across. Also includes a link to the configuration files I ultimately used.
My install went well, to the point where I was certain I must have missed some steps. I'm going to test some static page hosting on it too. If all goes well it will be my choice for basic web hosting going forward.
Coming from Linux, primarily bash. The extensibility of zsh has me interested. I'm not likely do to a lot of scripting, I'm really looking for a way to efficiently enter commands from a mobile devicee
With my installationof Sogo, lighthttpd, and mysql, is 5.4GB. This jail is based on 14.4
It's been working well for me. I did settle on thick jails for building a groupware server, and rdp server. They seemed to be work better for the more complex set-ups.
Is this for home lab stuff, or are you using them for production?
I'd agree it's most likely the cooler, but I've seen odd instances of a faulty motherboard or the motherboard being screwed too tightly to the case causing flexing and/or shorts.
The install from source is just too slow imo. Going to tackle again, but install sogo and dependencies directly. I'll lose the nice admin panel that attracted me to iredmail, but I suspect this will work better overall.
I was thinking of spinning up a vm to test this process. For production I'll definitely wait until version 16 though.
