Not sure about rage inducing.

I would say it's a contender for the most ignored sign.

I've never dismounted for one that's for sure.

Good. Go after trusts.

At a former workplace of mine, I overheard the directors discussing how their family trusts worked to minimise tax. These guys were on around a million dollar a year. (Publicly listed company)

I remember one saying, don't worry, the government will never change the laws on trusts as they all use them too.

Never thought this labor govt would grow a spine, but it appears that's slowly happening.

Say you get married young, early 20s, you may have less accumulated friends.

By the time you are early 30s you will have probably accumulated more.

Friends from uni / college, work places, hobbies etc.

How many of these people invited you to their weddings? Usually fair that you reciprocate.

That's how you end up with long guest lists.

They work quite well on other buried services too.

Especially on Friday afternoons.

The mainstream apps owned by match group as well as bumble appear to have a lot of people like you describe. I am sure there are decent people on there also, it's just the signal to noise ratio sucks, as well as the whole gamified bullshit of the apps themselves. I uninstalled Tinder/hinge/bumble not long after trying them and I have no plans to return. I suspect people who would put up with the way tinder functions are the same people who would put up with forced ads on their phone and smart tv etc. I would not be a good fit for people like that.

I've had a lot of success on less mainstream apps by simply being honest about what I'm looking for (ENM / casual ongoing) and have found many with the same views.

Glad it worked out for you.

But I can't help but wonder what if when you met in person it wasn't what you were expecting?

Would it have felt like a waste of texting effort?

Relatively new to dating via apps as an elder millennial freed from a life time of monogamy. (Only been at it 6 months)

Who are these people who want to go on a first date that involves being in a situation like a restaurant?

Seems like with apps people skip the whole courting thing and jump straight in to something that should only be for once you get to know each other a bit better.

For me, first meeting is a coffee or a drink at a well populated cafe or bar. Maybe a walk after somewhere busy in the city.

Maybe I'm just old and out of touch.

Surprised and very pleased at the CGT and negative gearing changes. Seems labor finally remembered they have a spine.

Good luck with any of this changing.

Where is the honest government ad on this topic? Clean air? Nah go fuck yourself Australia!

From the W.A. experience:

The law has nothing to prevent people who smoulder green wood and literally burn plastic rubbish in their wood heaters. Nothing. Maybe the local council will offer to drop a pamphlet off at their house if they get enough complaints from neighbors. Cunts living in fucking 350sqm lots 5km from the CBD with wood heaters... seriously. They should only be allowed on 5hectare + properties in order to keep them away from dense population and to simply dilute the level of pollution they put out.

IMO the tax policies that encouraged people in to using diesel utes / SUVs as mum taxis and urban commuter vehicles was a huge fuck up by the federal government. It will only cost the tax payer more over time due to having to pay for more insurance / medicare to cover all the health issues it caused. The auto manufactures should be made to fucking pay for it. Go look on any 4wd related social media page. Dickheads there will be jerking themselves off in delight that their child squasher mobile with no functioning diesel emission controls is fucking children right in the lungs. Whether it's because they have deleted all of the emission controls, or they are driving some ancient thing that never had it to start with they shouldn't even be on the road in cities.

In W.A. we also have the DBCA (department for burning cute animals). Every time the wind is blowing towards major population centers they set fire to huge swathes of forest 10s of km from where anyone actually lives in order to hit some made up quota of "hazard reduction burning". There is no scientific consensus for this method and a growing amount of evidence against this method.

It's interesting reading about the musical taste on here. I feel the average demographic of lemmy is mostly USA based late gen X guys.

Been listening to "EDM" since long before it was known as that. Remixing has been the way with electronic music since it's inception.

A small amount of my favorite remixes in no particular order

I liked the Skream remix, but the cut and run in for the pill bootleg worked a lot better on dance floors.

Capitalism prefers to outsource the child rearing to developing nations.

It welcomes immigration for young adults who are ready to be wage slave / tax payers.

TLDR: Howard, the source of most problems we face since his reign of destruction.

Since the last update I've noticed that gesture back stops working after a bit. Closing voyager and opening it again makes it work.

Also something slightly odd is happening with scaling where the app seems to take up less screen real estate randomly.

Pixel 7pro running Graphene.

Can't make this shit up, reality is beyond satire at this point.

This is the same media talking head who argued against Labor's fibre to the premises national broadband network. Who then brown noses NBN execs to get his own house upgraded to Fibre as a higher priority than anyone else.

Copper for thee, fibre for me.

What the hell happened to the federal ICAC anyway. Still waiting for all the politicians who spent billions buying back Telstra's rotten copper to go to jail.

The WA government is pressing ahead with its plan to create a motorsport street circuit in Burswood Park.

It is opening the community consultation process for the controversial new proposal.

But Treasurer Rita Saffioti has denied it will only be a motorsport track, saying it will be a "multi-use facility".
