Isn't that a prerequisite for being a republican at this point?

It's even more fun when you're trying to do something with a file on a network share. There have been so many times where a user goes "it's telling me i can't save this because Suzie is using it", i close Suzie's abandoned session, and the file is still magically in use by Suzie. Why? Because the dialogue is broken and the file is actually open on John's machine. I fucking hate windows.

I think you can replace "parents" with "fathers". Most of the other men I've known that have faced homophobia from their families have had it directed at them from their fathers. I think it's largely a cultural pass down from generation to generation. Just from personal observation, boomers were fucking awful about it, gen x did a lot better, and millennials have been even better than Gen x.

At the end of the day, what we know about parenting is largely from our own experiences with our parents mixed with our own ideas. As the culture shifts, so do ideas about parenting. It was deeply shameful to many people to have a gay kid until relatively recently. It was pretty normalized to be a shitty misogynistic and abusive straight man until relatively recently, as well. Parenting is just now starting to catch up with changes in societal norms.

Is that a giant koi? Is this an outtake from that del toro movie where the girl fucks a fish man? The attention to detail and light are great. I have many questions about the subject matter.

Enshittification is more a symptom of "corporate raider" culture that started in the 80's reaching its peak. The already rich pool their money to take over a company that's doing well (bonus points if it's a leveraged buyout), replace the leadership with loyalists, cut staffing to bare bones, and then bring the price of service as high as they can get away with while gutting any portions of the service that have a cost. Once they have juiced the company dry, they declare bankruptcy, liquidate all remaining assets, give themselves golden parachutes, and move on to the next company. AI is just the newest thing for them to apply the tried and true process to.

The census is a tallying of the people that live in the country. Legal or not, immigrants do live here and should be counted. This argument is dumb on so many levels.

For magats, I normally just use their own bad faith tactic against them. For other brands of douche like this guy, engaging with their arguments is what they want, because they want desperately to be validated by proving to the world (mostly themselves) that they are smarter and the most righteous and virtuous person in the thread. Simply refusing to engage or take them seriously almost immediately causes them to devolve and show their true colors. In this case, "everyone that doesn't agree with me is a fascist bot".

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 month ago

Right? I expect this type of shitty rhetoric from MAGATS, but it's even more annoying when it's someone that I probably agree with on most issues. Like, bro, stop being so thin skinned. You're never gonna have any allies if you act like this when someone is slightly right of you, it's pathetic.

I've only done it a few times with my nails and i've only had bubbles happen once. I think if you keep the temp warm rather than hot and don't have the polish super thick it shouldn't be an issue.

You're probably right on most counts. I don't really mind making the comments section hostile in this way though. It's all relegated to a single comments replies, and that comment is through the floor karma wise, so you'd have to hit the bottom of the comments to see it anyway. My only goal was to mildly annoy someone being insufferably self righteous for my own amusement, which I feel like I have accomplished. Hope it didn't bug you too much, but sometimes people just need to be repeatedly told to fuck off 🤷
