A suspect who shot at a White House checkpoint was killed in an exchange of fire with Secret Service agents on Saturday evening, officials have confirmed.

The BBC's US media partner CBS has named the suspect as Nasire Best, a 21-year-old man who was known to the protection agency and had a documented history of mental health conditions.

Who would be surprized if the shooter was a MAGA hat?

[–] RockBottom@feddit.org 4 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

It's the US, what did they expect?

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

Shootings. Sadly, the average school shooter is more successful.

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 14 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

I have no trust in the Regime. It is a coinflip whether it is a false flag or real, and honestly, I wouldn't mind it if Agent Blood Orange becomes a reality.

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 hour ago

Really, he did say he couldn't go to his kid's wedding because he's gonna get killed, like this was a scheduled shooting.

[–] gh0stb4tz@lemmy.world 20 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

Is Trump in the running for most attempts on a president’s life yet? I feel like the number is getting up there.

[–] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 17 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I guess there have been 8 trump assassination attempts total.

So far, there have been 7 school shootings in 2026 alone.

There have been over 130 mass shootings in the US so far this year.

The fascist child rapist is just experiencing what America has become. I'd rather a cheeseburger take him out instead of violence, but he's gonna be a martyr either way. Maga chuds are gonna get really fucking weird about his death. Just you wait. He'll be their patron saint.

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 5 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I want him to live long enough to completely fuck Republicans in the midterms.

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 2 points 4 hours ago

If a civil war happens, I want Trump to be the one prosecuting his end of it. It will be a chaotic bloodbath of stupidity, but it would work out in the favor of the good guys.

[–] Captainvaqina@sh.itjust.works 9 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

Obama had 11 attempts.

This one would make for 4 supposed attempts on the pedophile felon traitor's worthless life.

Although, quite curiously this regime has already stopped manufacturing their brainless hysteria about the previous ones.

Other than of course their expected droolingly stupid lies designed to further the ever ballooning illegal construction theft of the bunker to hide mr. cadet bone spurs mcdraft-dodging little coward bitch.

Looks like I'm not getting that tattoo yet.

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 28 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

Is the White House now considered a bad neighborhood?

Trump said that he made DC so safe.

[–] ech@lemmy.ca 13 points 9 hours ago

"Can't have shit on the North Lawn."

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 69 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

New justification for the west wing bunk... err, ballroom incoming.

This guy just keeps getting shot at! I wonder if it’s a result of his constantly terrible governing, his incredible narcissism, the fact that the only thing he can output is suffering, or even that his feelings of joy themselves are fraudulent.

Maybe all four?

[–] auzy1@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Are you saying that trump is repeating his YMCA dance because his staff told him to try it once, he saw it was successful and just repeats it constantly because he has nothing else?

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

The list of moves he has are

  • YMCA
  • Confuse
  • Grift
  • Belittle
[–] auzy1@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)
[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago

One…two… three… and SHITPANTS forgot YMCA!

SHITPANTS learned DOZE OFF!

[–] BillyClark@piefed.social 11 points 9 hours ago

Don't forget he hires people solely based on whether they will swear personal allegiance to him, but he's never loyal to them. So no competent person would ever want to work for him.

[–] PapaStevesy@lemmy.world 5 points 8 hours ago

Honestly, I think he's just that trashy, the whole DC neighborhood has gone downhill since he moved in...

[–] baronvonj@piefed.social 17 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

He hates these cans! Stay away from these cans!

alt: two panel vertical image, top image is a man dressed in hunters gear holding a rifle in a firing position squinting through the scope. The bottom panel is a gas station attendant standing near a display or motor oil cans and pointing at them in an excited manner, some of which have bullet holes. This is a scene from the Steve Marton movie The Jerk when a crazed gunman is trying to kill the main character for no reason.

[–] baronvonj@piefed.social 4 points 7 hours ago

yeah, he's gonna stay that color.

[–] Blibly@lemmy.world 11 points 10 hours ago

All I know is it's definitely NOT the child raping. Nope.

[–] homes@piefed.world 12 points 11 hours ago

He’s just so amazing, that everyone happens to want to kill him! That’s what happens when everyone loves you, right?

[–] BillCheddar@lemmy.world 35 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

Counting or not counting gang violence?

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 4 points 10 hours ago (1 children)
[–] LaunchesKayaks@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago

I still can't believe those were actually his last words. Sounds like something straight from fiction.

[–] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 28 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

We got the worst assassins known to man

[–] IAmYouButYouDontKnowYet@reddthat.com 30 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

That's because it's theater.

[–] CIA_chatbot@lemmy.world 8 points 9 hours ago

This, so much this. It’s fucking false flag bullshit

Is it too much to ask for some competence?

[–] YoureHotCupCake@lemmy.world 6 points 8 hours ago

If we were a competent nation we wouldn't be in the mess to begin with.

[–] Warl0k3@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

As the old saying goes, if you want something done right...

[–] Akh@lemmy.world 8 points 11 hours ago

Probably just acorns falling

[–] arctanthrope@lemmy.world 11 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

I really gotta stock a bottle of champagne, or one of these days I'll be caught unprepared

[–] FistingEnthusiast@lemmy.world 5 points 10 hours ago

I've had a bottle of 2006 Piper Heidseck vintner's reserve champagne on standby since his first term

[–] fluffykittycat@slrpnk.net 3 points 11 hours ago

Gotta run to the store before they sell out

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 5 points 10 hours ago

Watching the coverage, apparently someone pulled a gun close to the White House and got taken down by Secret Service.

One bystander was also injured, but it's unclear if it was by the perpetrator or the Secret Service.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Aw hell no. There is no way that Pumpkinhead should be martyred.

Assuming this was a real threat, they are definitely not helping in any way. Ideally, he's removed from office and the Democrats win the midterms. Second best is having him serve out his term as a cucked lame duck after the midterms. If he is incapacitated due to his dementia or gets a hamburger from heaven that's a far distant third best outcome. Still not great on that last one, since you just know the right will try to rehab the image of the Pumpkinhead.

[–] TemplaerDude@sh.itjust.works 3 points 7 hours ago

Fascists should be shot.

Your mistake is thinking the shooting needs to stop at him.

[–] tacosanonymous@mander.xyz 2 points 11 hours ago

In the 80’s that would have just been a normal day.

I’m going to guess it was something stupid or cops (I’m just being specific I know that cops are stupid)
