Enough Musk Spam

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

So we are going to need about 7acres per family, no property taxes and a universal base income. How do we pay for infrastructure, guess youd have to tax wealth... Wait a minute....

And he'll have full self driving by 2016!!

..oh wait

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 month ago

And a base on Mars by 2018!

That magical Christmasland future sounds great except for the glaring problem that in rich peoples' view, it doesn't involve any kind of UBI and everyone is buying the vegetables they aren't growing with imaginary money that nobody has except them and the rest of the owner class...

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 17 points 1 month ago (1 children)

So, is he advocating for UBI...or is he planning on putting everyone out on the street and just letting the entire population starve to death? Based on his usual comments, it really doesn't seem like he's given the aftermath a lot of thought.

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 10 points 1 month ago

He's gunning for starve to death. He's already tried to make sure tens of thousands of federal workers do it.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 month ago

Uh huh

I'm sure one day in the future this will happen.

I'm also sure that we're not even near that point in time

I'm also sure that assholes like you will make sure that only a select few individuals, assholes like you, will be able to enjoy all the riches. The rest can rot and die. Right, Thiel?

Fuck all of you

It's not even a good analogy. I HAVE to grow my own vegetables because I can't afford to buy them from the grocery store.

That has to be the most billionaire sentence ever

[–] atopi@piefed.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 month ago

I didnt expect for Elon Musk to advocate for a communist society

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 month ago

He's actively working against that utopian future he's presenting

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 month ago

working will be optional

Yeah, for you

[–] etherphon@midwest.social 3 points 1 month ago

Great news, send me that fat check then Elon.

Working will never be optional as long as people need to make a living to … live.

Workers will be optional. Unless we establish a system for people to enjoy life without working, people will suffer, if they survive.

Even the c-suite? Elon? Hello?
