I think a gayer Harris would have been less repulsive.

For some reason, my tired brain read DCU. And I guess it's still made kind of sense.

Actual neoliberals: "I'm completely fine with that as long as they don't infringe my right to fuck children or have indentured servants"

Actual Neoliberals: I'm just a conservative but I don't want to be associated with those guys who put flags all over their pickup trucks and drive around trying to bait people into being offended, even though we both want the exact same things.

Thats what they said!

as long as i can still fuck kids and keep slaves

That could be the church, billionaires, libertarians, monarchists.

"You have won photograph of glorious leader. But since property is theft, you must go to jail now."

"Fair enough."

I think dogs should be the only ones allowed to be billionaires.

No pitbull island pls

[–] lennee@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

the real question is if we only let dogs vote would we get something better or worse than what we have now

[–] roguetrick@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Depends on how you present the voting options. If it ends up being random selection of human representatives then you've just reinvented sortition and that is generally better than most of what we've got.

I dunno, feel like its better than random. When my dog didn't like someone, there usually ended up being a good reason. Might be onto something with the dog voting system.

[–] lennee@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

yeah i would have strict rules to not wiggle treats and toys in their face but generally you should have to pass the dog vibecheck

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

Politicians will learn to take advantage of dog biases too.

I would like to leave my money to half a billionaire. Caveat: that half cannot be connected to any other half. Also I get to decide if we're talking mass, surface area, number of bones, or something else whichever is most advantageous to me.

Now THAT'S a reality-style estates sale show I could get into.

No lives matter and that's a fact.

I oppose treating people as expendable in everyday life, but in the grand scheme of things, the truth is that we are mayflies buzzing about how much "our lives matter".

We only matter to the others that know us, and then, perhaps not even that much.

Time humbles all.

That's the problem with leftism these days. All they do is oppose the right, saying no etc. It would be a lot stronger if instead we provide a well constructed alternative instead. Don't vote for what you don't want but vote for what you want.
