Petition to get Lemmy and PieFed devs to e2e encrypt all user settings.
It's the blockbox of the instance.
Can they see blocks of individual users? Can we get a top 10 most blocked, unbanned users?
They can see everything in the database. So yes.
Would it be unethical to publish some novel stats that wouldn't be available to users?
In my opinion, probably yes. If that information being made public is likely to make people feel uncomfortable, then its probably unethical.
Unless they were contacted and gave their consent. That's a lot of unpaid work tho.

Not only do I believe this to be ethical, but I demand a ticker on the top of every page that alerts us every time someone blocks something. Imagine just seeing "Rickyrigatoni@retrolemmy.com has blocked rickyrigatoni@lemmy.ml" five hundred times because I keep blocking and unblocking my alts to annoy the entire fediverse. My utopia...

Get SSDs. Lemmy is heavy as fuck. I wish Piefed had existed when I set up my instance.
Both, nearly always advantageous to use SSDs as a cache pool with the heavy storage on HDDs.

Unfortunately, there's a lot of NSFW that's not porn that I do want to see. Typically just some text.
On the other hand, spam bots seem to always mark their posts NSFW for some reason.
