The FBI conducted an early-morning raid at the home of President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton outside of Washington, D.C. Friday.

FBI Director Kash Patel posted on X Friday morning, hinting about the raid: “NO ONE is above the law… @FBI agents on mission,” Patel posted.

The Independent confirmed the ongoing search at Bolton‘s Bethesda, Maryland, home. The Independent observed multiple law enforcement vehicles, parked outside with FBI agents standing outside the door as agents move in and out of the residence. It’s unclear what FBI agents were trying to find or what their case entails. A case file on federal court sites remains sealed.

This is the problem with binary thinking. Sometimes everyone involved is in the wrong. Not everything is good versus bad.

This isn't one. This is one where looks at community name he's a self-inflicted shooting. And like any of them, if they look over to me I'm just going to shrug and say "this is what you wanted". Now, maybe this isn't the exact direction he wanted, but playing with fire can burn in numerous ways.

Wasn't Bolton very critical of Trump in 2024? This seems like he is being targeted for stepping out of line

Bolton straight up called Trump "stupid", and much much more. This isn't the face eating some of these commenters think it is. This is taking out an enemy, that's what the story is. And we should be scared rather than celebrate.
