Kotos 2 was a great story but not a great game.

It should be a movie.

I don't know, I feel like the agency you get from it being a game was pretty important to the message and philosophy to me, and so was the length. Having to pick dialogue options really makes you think about what's going on more, and for me at least I tend to treat the main character as sort of a projection of myself, which ups the emotional stakes.

It should be a series, with a bit of theatrical (not opera) feel. A bit like B5, but slowly flowing and thoughtful.

Actually like Shaman King (both the Japanese original of anime and the manga are good, haven't yet seen the remake of the anime). I don't care if you call me nuts. I am.

Onderon and Dxun can be expanded upon this way.

Honestly, that has to be done, but not somehow to make some money, it can way a couple of decades until a group of people just right makes it.

Doesn't even have to be the same universe or the same brand, I think Lucas himself wouldn't care about the brand.

Actually no, there is a hurry, we have to do it while he's still alive. I'll be needing a team (like 100) of artists following Bushido, knowledgeable in Blender, Pov-Ray and drawing anime and manga, a team (like 20) of electronic musicians with black belts in PureData, Rosegarden, folk Arabic, classical and popular Persian, classical Chinese and Japanese music, knowledge of microtonal music, computing resources of of the OpenAI scale, office space of the Jedi Temple size, and a year.

EDIT: Joking, of course, it's not this simple even having the resources.

Kotor isn't canon but the disney shit is? Well then, we are lost

I read a comment somewhere that said the new Disney canon had become as convoluted and full of holes in 10 years as the 40 year old Expanded Universe it was supposed to replace.

[–] rottingleaf@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

It became convoluted and full of holes in its first wave, mwahaha.

And the EU could be separated into a few distinct parts, which, if separated (for each to be "unreliable narration" for characters existing in others), were not all that convoluted and full of holes, not at all.

With Disney canon unreliable narration just doesn't help. It still doesn't make sense or point.

I thought The Old ~~Republican~~ Republic was a continuation.

[–] Soapbox@lemmy.zip 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It is. But it's also "not canon" after Disney bought Star Wars.

[–] FartMaster69@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Non-canon until it isn’t.

We’ve seen mention of the Rakata in Andor for example.

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Yes, but if it's like other additions from the EU, they're basically the drunk uncles of the Old Republic that made a slightly different kind of spaceship.

[–] FartMaster69@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 months ago

It isn’t though.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 2 points 4 months ago

If the Rakatan Empire is canon KOTOR is canon and Disney's opinion doesn't matter.
