Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

No wonder ROTUS wants to return to the 1800s when rich white men could rape whoever they wanted.

People sure do seem to enjoy accusing him of shit while doing absolutely nothing about it. I wonder how long it will before everyone realizes that constantly saying he does bad shit isn’t the same thing as holding him accountable.

As long as it placates, right?

[–] madcaesar@lemmy.world -3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I honestly think it's worse.

When you keep calling somone a rapist / Nazi and you do absolutely nothing nothing about it, at some point people just assume you're full of shit.

That's what Trump was able to weaponized.

We called him a traitor staging a coup yet NOTHING happened to him, so the average moron that doesn't pay attention assumed it's bullshit.

Same with the constant impeachment calls that go nowhere, the average idiot just assumes Trump won.

Reminder that she's not name-calling. A judge had to clarity in court that Trump raped E. Jean Carroll.

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Jeez that got pretty graphic

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 48 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

If you want graphic, you should read the description of his rape of his former wife Ivana from the court records (I believe her settlement ultimately included a clause that said she couldn't call it "rape") after a botched hair surgery.

This man has always been trash. Feces made human.

Or the court docs from the victim of he and Epstein when she was 14. Who then withdrew her lawsuit after she received a tidal wave of death threats

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung sounded off on Ocasio-Cortez in a statement to the Daily Beast.

“AOC likes to play pretend like she’s from the block, but in reality she’s just a sad, miserable blockhead who is trying to overcompensate for her lack of self-confidence that has followed her for her entire life,” he said. “Instead, she should get some serious help for her obvious and severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted her pea-sized brain.”

the fact that the White House Communications Director has communication skills on par with a snotty middle schooler is really quite funny. I mean, they all do, but that the communications director sounds like this, you'd think it was an Onion article.

Steven Cheung

Looks 20 years older than his 43 years

It’s a strategic thing too. A significant portion of voters can’t read above a fifth or sixth grade level. Politicians sound like middle schoolers because that is what appeals to their voting base.

It's like the entire administration was recruited on 4chan

[–] mad_lentil@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 week ago

you’d think it was an Onion article.

And not even like a good one.

[–] Don_alForno@feddit.org 7 points 1 week ago

Next week he'll claim he fucked her mom.

[–] theherk@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

One of the 13 year olds looked just like Ivanka at the time.

[–] EmptySlime@lemmy.blahaj.zone 52 points 1 week ago

The absolute least surprising thing about that situation. He's been so absolutely weird about her every time he speaks about her. Makes my fucking skin crawl.

[–] Lucky_777@lemmy.world 44 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Any normal parent would have zero sexual thoughts about their own child. This is genetically built into your code to not have attraction. I have 4 daughters. 2 blood and 2 step. Zero sexual thoughts about any of them.

Trump even mentioning it is fucked up.

[–] Serinus@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Maybe part of that instinct comes from raising them and spending time with them.

[–] defaultusername@lemmy.dbzer0.com 22 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And also not being a pedophile helps.

[–] fodor@lemmy.zip 18 points 1 week ago

The video footage was doctored. Maybe innocuously, maybe not, but the files that were supposed to be the originals had been edited multiple times with Adobe software.

See other posts for articles detailing this. It's easy enough to confirm. (That alone doesn't prove extreme badness, but it does prove intent to deceive the public, as if we needed more.)
