For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

MODERATORS

No matter how many tech companies he takes over, or how much he juices the Twitter algorithm to make his tweets perform better than his political enemies, or how many memes he steals and crops out the watermark before reposting, or how many times he gets booed offstage at a stadium stand-up show, or how many SNL cast members think he's the worst host in history, or how many joke-writing robots he brings to parties, Musk will never be a comedian, but he'll always be a punchline

The thing about Elon he just cheats and pretends.

For example that game he streamed that he bought the high level game account from someone but he didn’t even know the basics. He Made a fool of himself trying to fake who he is.

He is the type of person to buy a piano and use the demo mode to play itself.

This checks out. From Walter Isaacson’s Elon Musk biography:

[Max] Levchin was at a friend’s bachelor pad hanging out with Musk. Some people were playing a high-stakes game of Texas Hold ‘Em. Although Musk was not a card player, he pulled up to the table. “There were all these nerds and sharpsters who were good at memorizing cards and calculating odds,” Levchin says. “Elon just proceeded to go all in on every hand and lose. Then he would buy more chips and double down. Eventually, after losing many hands, he went all in and won. Then he said “Right, fine, I’m done.” It would be a theme in his life: avoid taking chips off the table; keep risking them.
