America doesn't have a democracy. Everyone is marketed to and psychologically manipulated. It's more like a majority owned stock or something.
It's sad and true. And it's darkly surreal watching people still believing in it.
its not a "democracy" by design either; its a republic (even though the terms have been used interchangeably since the American Revolution). And in that republic, most have lost sight of who their representatives are or what they stand for. They will vote based on vibes and/or single monomaniacal issue-platforms like abortion or same-sex marriage or immigration. These same people did not see that heel-turn coming; that the same racists that promised them a white utopia actually just meant a white-utopia for those with all the power. Faced with such an existential dilemma, they must choose to accept the stark reality that their chosen heroes were against them all along or warp their own reality with rationalizations. You can probably see with your eyes what many have decided.
I mean it's a democratic republic. The words describe aspects of the political system and nation.
The republic is the nation/government itself (of the people etc). Democracy is the political system used to achieve our republic.
But yes both are under attack by Nazis.
