Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

I mean sure seems like something a Harvard rowing team coxswain would be saying is happening.

JFC that's not a little bit of a droop. That's almost definitely signs of a stroke. A guy I knew at work looked exactly the same after his stroke. Trump looked relatively normal at the u.s. open a few days ago and you'd think after a stroke he'd at least take a week or two off given his advanced age and "robust" health. Maybe it's bell's palsy or someone smacked him upside the head with a frying pan?

Edit: Also this article seems a little on the nose.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 19 points 8 months ago

If it was done with a frying pan ... they should have done the other side too just to even things out and not make it so noticeable.

He can’t take time off. He believes it’ll make him look “weak” and he’ll lose control of the narrative.

And deliciously, him trying to push through and play strong man will kill him even quicker. I seriously wonder if he’s starting to question his mortality or is just completely ignorant.

Given his comments about getting into heaven, he absolutely is.

[–] DoucheBagMcSwag@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 8 months ago (1 children)

He is. He's been telling his dumbass fans to donate money to "help him get to heaven"

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 4 points 8 months ago

He's going to try to bribe St Peter, isn't he?

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 2 points 8 months ago

He disappeared for Labor Day weekend. Like all of it. Not a normal Trump weekend at all. The first interview afterwards was a private interview with a right wing outlet.

Then the AI facepaint video about Kirk.

The only thing that doesn’t fit with the coverup is the taking in front of Marine 1 if I have the timeline right.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 6 points 8 months ago

The last time he disappeared for 4 days, everyone assumed he was dead. Now he can't take any time off, or the rumor mill will really start spewing.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 31 points 8 months ago (1 children)

That is not a guy who filmed the Kirk apology video the night before.

[–] stickly@lemmy.world 6 points 8 months ago

It probably is, dude weekend at Donnie'd himself

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 21 points 8 months ago (3 children)

look at melania, she must be estatic hes about to pass.

[–] frezik@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Dude could be stroking out right there, and she'd just call a lawyer to make sure the will is secure.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 8 months ago

Or maybe that's the look he gets when he's pinching a loaf.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Justin Trudeau on speedial...

[–] ArmoredThirteen@lemmy.zip 16 points 8 months ago

Looking like how my grandpa looked shortly before he died. Granted I've said that before and the bastard is still here but here's to hoping it goes through this time

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 13 points 8 months ago (3 children)

Oof yeah thats an old man who's unlikely to make enough of a recovery to be doing speeches for a living again. Didn't see if it's full body sagittal droop or just facial. Former says stroke, latter says palsy. Like neither is good for him but palsy is manageable, stroke in a 79 year old is entirely likely to be the beginning of the end.

[–] stickly@lemmy.world 13 points 8 months ago (1 children)

You can see in the clip he checks his left hand with a lift but can't match it with his right hand. Similarly, he conspicuously doesn't move his right hand in his most recent recorded speech.

[–] PolarKraken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 8 months ago

Oh wow that is a subtle but juicy detail, sure looks like exactly that to me, nice catch!

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 13 points 8 months ago (1 children)

that explains melania so close to him, melania is going to reap his soul soon.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 8 months ago

She's just staying close in case he tries to change his will.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 8 months ago

Latter can also say stroke, just localized to the area of the brain that controls the facial nerve.

My hope is that something blows out in his brainstem. If he survives it, there's no way he'd be able to hide the effects of that.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 8 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Give him some credit. At least he's not asleep, like at the pope's funeral.

[–] bstix@feddit.dk 6 points 8 months ago

I wouldn't consider this "not sleeping" either. It appears that he's in some state of mental limbo.

If this isn't a stroke, then his doctor should probably check for zombie bite marks.
