Anyone still here? We need to get a thriving orchid community especially now that spring has sprung!

Let’s see what you currently have in bloom or is just about to bloom

I was in Los Angeles last week and picked up this Zygo at a local Trader Joe’s. I believe it’s a Debbie Demello “Honolulu Baby”. Beautiful orchid and for the price of $18, carrying it on the plane, and many eye rolls from the wife I think it was absolutely worth the price of admission

Guarechea Black Comet = Guarechea Miva Etoile Noire × Prosthechea cochleata

Guarechea is a hybrid genus of Guarianthe and Prostechea.

I've posted a picture of this orchid before, but it is with more flowers.

Yet again, from the Hortus Botanicus in Leiden. They say that there are distinct male and female Catasetum plants and that they can be recognized by their flowers. But I don't know which one this is.

After a difficult time because I had underestimated the morning sun during a hot spell this little orchid is doing well again 🥵

3 flowers and many buds 🥰

I've waited many years to see a female flower in my plant. I hope it gets pollinated.

I'm particularly happy about this one flowering, because they say that Renanthera monachica only flowers when it gets sun from both sides.
